One of the world's only caffeinated herbal teas, Yerba Maté Tea is an herbaceous and slightly bitter cup made from the leaves of the South American Ilex paraguariensis tree. Indigenous to countries like Paraguay, Brazil, and Argentina, Yerba Maté has a home in a majority of South American kitchens, where it's shared as a symbol of friendship and community.

Yerba Maté Tea is best enjoyed in the traditional way - consumed from a decorative gourd using a spoon-like straw called a Bombilla. This tea's distinctive flavour is perfect on its own, or can be sweetened with your choice of sweetener.

Steep for 4-7 minutes in 95C water. We recommend using 1 teaspoon per 200ml.

"This is my first experience trying herbal tea and I am pleasantly surprised. I specifically tried this one based on some recommendations and I’m not disappointed. This tea has a nice and pleasant taste, that is not overpowering. It’s caffeine content makes for a suitable alternative to coffee if you’re looking for one. Getting the traditional-ish stainless steel straw was a game changer for this as well. Continuous infusion of the tea leaves while you drink it adds a nice development to the taste. I enjoy it most with a teaspoon of sugar."
