Quality Testing at The Tea Centre
The Tea Centre consciously sources our teas from reputable and trusted suppliers across the globe. All suppliers follow stringent quality standards and country-specific guidelines to ensure the finest quality & flavour in every cup.

Stringent quality standards
The Tea Centre sources its tea from trusted suppliers across the globe - with our largest supplier in Germany.
As a member of The German Tea Association, our exporters are committed to observing the Code of Practice for Quality Control, as well as adhering to the highest & most stringent quality testing standards implemented by the European Union (EU).
Our teas are regularly imported from our global suppliers, where the tea is thoroughly inspected upon arrival to ensure consistent freshness up to the very moment the loose leaves land in your teapot.

Supporting sustainable farming
The Tea Centre has also developed relationships with organisations that support the fair treatment of those working in tea farming and production. Where possible, we have chosen to stock a selection of teas that stem from these regions.
By doing this we hope to encourage a more sustainable future for tea production, both environmentally and for tea-growing communities.

What flavours are used in The Tea Centre's teas?
The Tea Centre uses a minimal amount of nature-identical flavour in some of its black and green tea fusions. Nature-identical flavour is essence that we synthesise in a lab so that it’s identical to those found in nature.
A common misconception is that nature-identical flavour is used to mask a poorly blended tea. The opposite is the case at The Tea Centre!
There exists some natural essences in the world that are simply impossible to collect on a commercial scale or can only be extracted at the detriment of wildlife and their environment. When this is the case, The Tea Centre will use nature-identical flavour to ensure that the tea you drink has optimal flavour, is eco-friendly, has no contaminates, and comes at an affordable price point.
Using nature-identical flavour also creates consistency in the taste of our tea across different seasons.
How much caffeine is in tea?
The caffeine content in your cup of tea can vary depending on the type of tea and amount used.
Black tea typically contains between 40-50mg of caffeine per cup, and Green tea typically contains between to 30-40mg of caffeine per cup (based on a 200ml cup of tea) - For comparison, a cup of coffee typically contains 80-100mg.
For caffeine sensitive tea lovers, we recommend checking out our range of Decaf Teas, Herbal Teas, Fruit Tisanes, and Rooibos Teas, as these are naturally caffeine free alternatives to Black and Green teas.
