Winter has arrived in the last week or two, and while many are bemoaning the cold, things here at The Tea Centre are quite different. Why? Simple! Winter is Chai Season.

Honestly, what could be better right now than the soft aroma of spiced tea and the gentle warmth of a fresh mug of chai? It’s one of the simple pleasures of the cooler months—a little indulgence to chase off those winter blues.

Of course, all those extra cups of tea can really ratchet up our caffeine intake, and that’s not always something we want. But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with a lovely little collection of caffeine-free chai blends. All of the flavour and warmth, but none of the dreaded caffeine shakes. So, take a look and see if there could be a new favourite herbal chai for you this winter.

Mumbai Chai – Now Available Caffeine-Free!

Let’s start off with an absolute classic: Mumbai Chai. This is one of our most popular chai tea blends, with hints of orange, juniper, cinnamon, and green cardamom. But did you know that we also have a Decaf Mumbai Chai blend? Well, now you do!

It’s just as delicious as the caffeinated version, but now in a form you can drink well into those long winter nights. Being naturally caffeine-free, it’s also kid-friendly—perfect for our little junior sippers. Give it a try and see why this decaf chai is quickly becoming a new winter staple.

Dandelion Chai – Earthy, Rich, and Packed with Benefits

But what about something a little deeper and a little earthier? Then allow us to introduce you to Dandelion Chai. A rich and powerful caffeine-free herbal tea with cinnamon, star anise, ginger, clove, and cardamom.

It tastes amazing, and the ginger helps bring a little extra warmth on cold days. Not only that, but dandelion roots are a great winter wellness ingredient. They’ve got respectable amounts of Vitamins A and C, a little Vitamin E, and some of the B Vitamins.

A boost to Vitamin C intake is always useful at this time of year, but that’s not all. Dandelion roots are also traditionally used to support liver and kidney function, a major plus when we’re enjoying heavier winter foods.

Rooibos Chai – Naturally Caffeine-Free and Full of Flavour

Alternatively, you could try our Rooibos Chai. Rooibos is a naturally caffeine-free plant from South Africa, and we’ve blended in plenty of cinnamon, ginger, cloves, and a touch of black pepper to give it some extra kick.

As a serving suggestion, it’s excellent with a little added honey. But wait, there’s more! We’ve also used Rooibos to create a brand-new blend—available for a limited time only—called Chocolate Chai. Chocolate pairs wonderfully with spices, especially cinnamon and ginger. Now you don’t have to choose between hot chocolate or chai—you can enjoy both in one comforting cup of chocolate-infused spiced tea.

Toasted Toffee – Our New Dessert-Inspired Decaf

Chocolate Chai isn’t our only new blend either. May we proudly present our Toasted Toffee blend. Who doesn’t love a warm dessert in the winter? We’ve combined chunks of caramel, hazelnut brittle, and a decadent mix of orange, cinnamon, and cardamom to delight and tantalise our tasters.

The base is our decaffeinated black tea, so it makes an excellent after-dinner tea. It also has far fewer calories than an actual pudding—perfect for those of us who want to indulge.

Anti Stress – Our Calming Herbal Chai Blend

We now introduce one last blend for you. We call this one Anti Stress. Ever had our Vanilla Chai? Well, this is the spice blend we use—just without the tea base. The blend of orange, cinnamon, liquorice root, and fennel seed is warm and sweet.

It’s a fantastic way to decompress at the end of a long day, blended using Ayurvedic principles to create a relaxing herbal tea that calms the mind and promotes a sense of ease. If you're looking for a bedtime chai or a stress-relief tea, this might be just the thing.
